Subject [Government Update] FTC Includes Pharmaceutical, IT Investigations in IP Annual Work Plan

The Korea Fair Trade Commission (FTC) have included plans for an investigation and monitoring of the pharmaceutical and IT sectors in their annual work plan. The actions are scheduled to be reported in June 2010.

Further details have yet to be announced, but the investigations are thought to be centred on anti-trust issues related to patent settlements.

The EUCCK IP Centre, along with related EUCCK Committees, is planning to follow developments in cooperation with the FTC. Announcements of forthcoming meetings will follow in due course.
