[IPR Committee News]Luncheon Meeting:KIPO-EUCCK Collabarate to Combat Counterfeiting |
The EUCCK’s Intellectual Property Rights Committee is hosting a luncheon meeting on KIPO's Anti-Counterfeiting Activities and Policies:"Strengthening Industrial Property Protection in Korea”with Mr. Won Jong Kim, Director General of the Industrial Property Protection Team of the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) on June 28, 2006 at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul.
The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Committee, making strides in improving foreigner's investment and business environment in Korea and the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), a government branch responsible for IPR protection including patent and trademark registration is reaffirming their mutual cooperation for the sustainable upgrade of the IPR protection status in Korea and to aggressively solve the IPR Committee member companies' difficulties in relation to IPR such as patent and trademark rights.
To fight against the trafficking situation of counterfeit and pirated goods in Korea, KIPO and the EUCCK established a Memorandum of Understanding in 2003, to cooperate and prepare collective action plans on IPR protection policies to protect better the businesses and consumers in the country.
