With the increasing sophistication of the Korean marketplace there has been a major evolution in the treatment of intellectual property rights in Korea. The treatment of IPR has undergone a major evolution in the country due to the dynamic nature of the Korean society. Over the past decade or so, Korea has developed into a truly digital society through its pioneering achievements in telecommunications. Nevertheless, lax enforcement of IPR in Korea has still been viewed by foreign business entities as the primary reason for their complaint or hesitation to expand investment in Korea.


Luncheon Meeting with Mr, Sang-Don An, Senior IPR Prosecutor  
  The EUCCK IPR Committee organized a special luncheon meeting with Mr. Sang Don An, Senior IPR Prosecutor, on November 25th. The discussion focused mainly upon the current IPR issues and concerns of foreign business community working in Korea. Mr. An shared with us his insight on the recent enforcement activities and future initiatives of SPO.
