The latest EUCCK IPR Committee November luncheon meeting took place on 4 November at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul. The meeting featured a presentation by Mr. Cho, Hoon-Goo, Director of the Investigation Planning Division at the Korea Customs Service (KCS).


 
Visit from Dr Thomas Pattloch - EU Delegation to China IP Officer
 
  On November 18th, Dr Thomas Pattloch, the EU Delegation IP Officer in Beijng, visited the EUCCK to meet with members of the IPR Committee. As well as focusing on China IP policy, Dr Pattloch is also heavily involved in regional and global IPR initiatives, and has a vast experience of working across the Asia/Pacific region.
 
 
KCS meeting on IPR Protection
 
  On November 18, EUCCK IPRC Director Mr. Tom Duke accompnaied several Committee members to a meeting organised by the Korea Customs Service (KCS) in Seoul, which focused on a range of IP protection issues.

 
 
8th December - R&D Conference
 
 
The EUCCK and the MKE are jointly organising a conference which will take place on Tuesday December 8th at the Lotte hotel (City Hall).
 
 
Committee Planning for 2010
 
 
The EUCCK is currently finalising the IPR Committee plan for 2010. If any members or other Committee supporters have any input they would like to contribute to this process, please contact Committee Director Mr. Tom Duke via the email euipr@eucck.org.
 
 
EUCCK IPR Committee to appear on Seoul Radio Station
 
 
EUCCK IPR Committee director Tom Duke is due to appear on the tbs efm radio show at 10:00am on Friday 4th December. Mr Duke will discuss general EUCCK activities, as well as counterfeit and other IP issues relevant to a general audience.
 
 

KIPO Strengthens links with Vietnam  
  Korea Intellectual Propety Office (KIPO) Commisisoner Koh Jung-Sik concluded a recent trip to Vietnam by presenting an agreement to upgrade the relations between the two countries in the IP field.
 
 
KCS - Mongolia Cooperation Extended to Cover IPR  
  Korea Customs Service (KCS) Commissioner Hur Yongsuk announced that the current cooperation arrangement between the Korean and Mongolian customs authorities will be extended to cover IPR protection.
