To protect the well known trademarks in Korea , we held a luncheon meeting with KIPO and foreign companies operating in Korea to prevent unfair practices on May 15th, at Namsan II, Grand Hyatt Hotel.


2009 Information Fair : Combating Counterfeitng  
  EUCCK IPR Committee conducted a campaign to raise public awareness of counterfeiting and its economic and social harm on 10th day May (Sunday) near Seoul Plaza. We informed to newly arrived foreign expats and local families on the importance of IPRs protection to expedite the environment where innovation and creativity are respected. For effective interation with fair participant, we handed out leaflets and booklets by sharing information.
 
 
Forthcoming Meeting with FTC  
  The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea (www.eucck.org) holds a luncheon meeting with FTC and foreign companies operating in Korea on June 12th, at Namsan II, Grand Hyatt Hotel.
 
KCS, EUCCK Discuss Cooperation for e-Transaction Monitoring  
  May 27, Seoul Customs Office - the EUCCK IPR Committee and members of the Korea Online Shopping Association held a working level meeting to discuss further cooperation for preventing the countefeit circulation at cyberspace.
 
 
KIPO Support Women's Invention
 
  Coex, Seoul, May 1 to 9, 2009
Korea International Women's Invention Exposition (KIWIE) 2009 had been organized by Korean Women Inventors Association (KWIA), WIPO and KIPO to support women inventors and SMEs set up by women entrepreneurs to provide an opportunity for marketing their products, sharing information and experience, finding good business opportunities, and learning IP knowledge for business.

Who knew that Avon had patents?  
  Who knew that Avon had patents? But given that Avon Products generated 10 Billion USD in revenues in fiscal year 2007, with a gross profit margin of 60%, it would seem this company sure knows what its doing and the fact that they have an extensive patent portfolio should not be a surprise to anyone.
